Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Barnard could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the At Home - British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Figures On A Path In A Swiss Valley changed hands for GBP 59.75 (€ 85.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barnard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87).
