Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Goat herders resting in a mountainous lakeland landscape by George Barnard was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in London in March 2001. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,611.58), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Barnard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Goat herders resting in a mountainous lakeland landscape von George Barnard wurde im März 2001 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.611,58) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Barnard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected Images beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.438,87) versteigert wurde.
