Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,611.58), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Barnard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87).
