Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George H. Seeley could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Birch Trees changed hands for USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,378.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Other works by George H. Seeley have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2008 by the work Landscape With Two Figures at USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,799.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George H. Seeley konnte im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Birch Trees für USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.378,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von George H. Seeley wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2008 die Arbeit Landscape With Two Figures mit USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.799,09).
