Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Girl with dog from Camera Work, October 1907 by George H. Seeley for GBP 5.88 (€ 9.21). This price was achieved in the auction PHOTOGRAPHS, MAGIC LANTERNS AND OPTICAL TOYS AND CAMERAS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 25.00 – 100.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George H. Seeley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With Two Figures in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,799.09).
