Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work The Swan, 1927 by George H. Seeley for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,695.83). This price was achieved in the auction The Face of the Century: Photographs from a Private Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George H. Seeley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape With Two Figures, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,799.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Swan, 1927 von George H. Seeley für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.695,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Face of the Century: Photographs from a Private Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George H. Seeley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape With Two Figures beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.799,09) versteigert wurde.
