Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Lucretia'S Suicide by Georg Pencz was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Christies in London in December 2014. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,287.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Pencz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,782,967.52).
