The work Untitled by Gene Davis was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October last year. It achieved a price of USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,775.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gene Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Legato In Red in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 171,939.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled von Gene Davis wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.775,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gene Davis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Legato In Red im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 171.939,48).
