Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Series I by Gene Davis was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 13,860.00 (€ 13,952.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gene Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Legato In Red in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 171,939.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Series I von Gene Davis wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 13.952,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gene Davis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Legato In Red im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 171.939,48).
