Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Alone Among Friends by Gardar Eide Einarsson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,836.86). Other works by Gardar Eide Einarsson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2014 by the work Greetings to Thieves, Male and Female at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,344.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Alone Among Friends von Gardar Eide Einarsson im März 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.836,86) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Gardar Eide Einarsson wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2014 die Arbeit Greetings to Thieves, Male and Female mit GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.344,97).
