Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Snow by Gao Xingjian was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,429.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Xingjian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work By the Lake in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Snow von Gao Xingjian kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.429,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Xingjian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit By the Lake im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
