Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L'Oeil by Gao Xingjian was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 12,144.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gao Xingjian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work By the Lake in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit L'Oeil von Gao Xingjian kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 12.144,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gao Xingjian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit By the Lake im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
