Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Moonlight by Gao Xingjian was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. The price achieved of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,614.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gao Xingjian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work By the Lake in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Moonlight von Gao Xingjian wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.614,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gao Xingjian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit By the Lake im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
