A top price for Gao Xingjian
In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work By the Lake by Gao Xingjian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92), 32% above the upper estimate. With this result, By the Lake is even the most expensive work of art by Gao Xingjian that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit By the Lake von Gao Xingjian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist By the Lake sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gao Xingjian, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
