Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Col. William Vincent, in scarlet coat with silver epaulettes and wearing a shoulder-belt plate bearing the insignia of the 82nd Regiment of Foot, wearing the Army Gold Medal by Frederick Buck was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2004, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 600.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 2,270.50 (€ 3,267.87). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frederick Buck; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A young lady, facing right in ruffle bordered white silk dress, yellow sash, blue hat with yellow ribbon in her long curling brown hair sold at auction in June 2003 with the realized price of GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,293.20).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Col. William Vincent, in scarlet coat with silver epaulettes and wearing a shoulder-belt plate bearing the insignia of the 82nd Regiment of Foot, wearing the Army Gold Medal von Frederick Buck im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches.
