Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Thérèse Lisant Dans Le Parc De Méric by Frédéric Bazille for USD 444,500.00 (€ 395,603.42). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 450,000.00 – 650,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Frédéric Bazille have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2015 by the work Portrait De Paul Verlaine À L'Âge De Vingt-Trois Ans at USD 610,000.00 (€ 554,848.10).
