Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Fred Mitchell. The price achieved of USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,442.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fred Mitchell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arbor, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,147.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Fred Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.442,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Fred Mitchell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arbor beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.147,74) versteigert wurde.
