Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Off Harbor by Fred Mitchell was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,884.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Fred Mitchell have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May this year the work Arbor was auctioned for USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,147.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Off Harbor von Fred Mitchell wurde im Februar 2007 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 14.400,00 (€ 10.884,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Fred Mitchell konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai diesen Jahres die Arbeit Arbor für USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.147,74) versteigert.
