In February 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work I Was A Sharp Well Defined Shape, But Only A Shadow by Fred Eerdekens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,141.14), 35% above the upper estimate. Other works by Fred Eerdekens have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,177.77) in October 2010 for the work A Very Short Story With A Lot Of Fiction In The Middle And Something.
