Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Desnudo by Francisco Corzas was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,459.59). Admittedly, works by Francisco Corzas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Desnudo de espalda in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 171,379.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Desnudo von Francisco Corzas im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.459,59) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francisco Corzas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Desnudo de espalda im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 171.379,61).
