Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A beagle; and A foxhound by Florence Jay was sold in the Sporting Art and Dogs auction at Christies in London in November 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,311.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Florence Jay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gone to ground, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,269.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A beagle; and A foxhound von Florence Jay wurde im November 2002 in der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.311,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Florence Jay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gone to ground beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.269,84) versteigert wurde.
