Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Portrait of a spaniel by Florence Jay. The price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 614.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Florence Jay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gone to ground in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,269.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a spaniel von Florence Jay zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 614,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Florence Jay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gone to ground im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.269,84).
