etching, 1640-80, on laid paper, watermark partial Eagle (similar to Heawood 1304, dated 1651), a very good impression of the second, final state, with small margins, pale foxing, some tiny losses at the lower sheet edge, otherwise in good condition

The work The Astrologer by Ferdinand Bol was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,727.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ferdinand Bol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 5,189,000.00 (€ 7,356,259.16).

Die Arbeit The Astrologer von Ferdinand Bol kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.727,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Bol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.189.000,00 (€ 7.356.259,16).
