This artwork by Ferdinand Bol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2021. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Old Man with a Flowing Beard and Cap (Hollstein 9) sold for GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,216.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ferdinand Bol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 5,189,000.00 (€ 7,356,259.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ferdinand Bol erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit Old Man with a Flowing Beard and Cap (Hollstein 9) für GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.216,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Bol erzielen.
