In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Self-Portrait by Ferdinand Bol. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 790,000.00 (€ 885,763.71), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ferdinand Bol have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 5,189,000.00 (€ 7,356,259.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Ferdinand Bol zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 790.000,00 (€ 885.763,71) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ferdinand Bol auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.189.000,00 (€ 7.356.259,16).
