Die Arbeit St. Jerome in the Cave (Bartsch, Hollstein 3) von Ferdinand Bol kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.638,00 (€ 1.953,79) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Bol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be The Artist'S Son, Aged 8 im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.189.000,00 (€ 7.356.259,16).
