In June 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Nyc Butterfly Girl by Faile. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,068.83), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Faile - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work New York City 02, which sold at auction in June 2009 for GBP 49,250.00 (€ 57,793.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nyc Butterfly Girl von Faile zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.068,83) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Faile mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit New York City 02 beobachtet, die im Juni 2009 für GBP 49.250,00 (€ 57.793,22) versteigert wurde.
