A top price for Fred Holland Day - as previously expected
The work St. Sebastian by Fred Holland Day was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, St. Sebastian is the most expensive artwork by Fred Holland Day that we have observed at auctions so far.
