In April 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Kedan (Left Panel Of Triptych Armageddon) by Fred Holland Day. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,946.31), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fred Holland Day have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St. Sebastian in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kedan (Left Panel Of Triptych Armageddon) von Fred Holland Day zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.946,31) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fred Holland Day auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit St. Sebastian im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 195.043,60).
