In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art | New York, which included the work Luz by Esteban Vicente. The auction ended at the price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 33,973.16), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Esteban Vicente have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 156,964.75).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Luz von Esteban Vicente zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 33.973,16) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Esteban Vicente auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 156.964,75).
