In September 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Falling Man (Study) by Ernest Trova. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,730.98), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ernest Trova have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study/Falling Man (Wheel Man) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 54,091.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im September 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Falling Man (Study) von Ernest Trova zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.730,98) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Trova auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study/Falling Man (Wheel Man) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 54.091,18).
