Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Ernest Trova achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2010. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Falling Man, Figure In Sphere (Study) sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,571.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ernest Trova; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Study/Falling Man (Wheel Man) sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 63,000.00 (€ 54,091.18).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ernest Trova erzielte im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Falling Man, Figure In Sphere (Study) für USD 37.500,00 (€ 27.571,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ernest Trova; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Study/Falling Man (Wheel Man) im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 54.091,18).
