Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eric Sloane could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation auction, the work Pennsylvania Dutch Barn changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,543.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Sloane - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vermont December, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 55,000.00 (€ 34,799.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eric Sloane konnte im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation wechselte die Arbeit Pennsylvania Dutch Barn für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.543,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Sloane mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vermont December beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 55.000,00 (€ 34.799,11) versteigert wurde.
