Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Penitente Cross 30 x 22 in. framed 36 x 28 in. by Eric Sloane was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,793.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Eric Sloane have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vermont December in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 55,000.00 (€ 34,799.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Penitente Cross 30 x 22 in. framed 36 x 28 in. von Eric Sloane wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.793,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eric Sloane auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vermont December im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.000,00 (€ 34.799,11).
