Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mariage by Mané-Katz was auctioned at Christies in London in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 57,960.00 (€ 67,333.03). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mané-Katz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wedding, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 145,875.00 (€ 170,262.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mariage von Mané-Katz im Juni letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 57.960,00 (€ 67.333,03) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mané-Katz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wedding beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 145.875,00 (€ 170.262,25) versteigert wurde.
