This work of art by Emil Bisttram could be acquired at Christies in Beverly Hills in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the California, Western and American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture auction, the work Rancho de Taos changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,478.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emil Bisttram achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 68,500.00 (€ 49,213.31).
