Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ranchos Church Taos by Emil Bisttram was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,312.50 (€ 21,451.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emil Bisttram - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene), which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 68,500.00 (€ 49,213.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ranchos Church Taos von Emil Bisttram kam im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.312,50 (€ 21.451,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Emil Bisttram mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 68.500,00 (€ 49.213,31) versteigert wurde.
