In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Two Centuries: American Art, which included the work Sound Dynamics by Emil Bisttram. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,240.00 (€ 25,751.51), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emil Bisttram; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) sold at auction in December 2008 with the realized price of USD 68,500.00 (€ 49,213.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Two Centuries: American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sound Dynamics von Emil Bisttram zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 25.751,51) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emil Bisttram; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) im Dezember 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 49.213,31).
