Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emil Bisttram achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Paris in May this year. In the American Art auction, the work Taos Mountain in Winter sold for USD 19,200.00 (€ 18,021.40) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emil Bisttram - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene), which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 68,500.00 (€ 49,213.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emil Bisttram erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Taos Mountain in Winter für USD 19.200,00 (€ 18.021,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Emil Bisttram mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 68.500,00 (€ 49.213,31) versteigert wurde.
