This artwork by Emil Bisttram achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in June 2000. In the American Paintings auction, the work Light (Morning) sold for USD 8,225.00 (€ 8,617.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Emil Bisttram have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 68,500.00 (€ 49,213.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emil Bisttram erzielte im Juni 2000 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings wurde die Arbeit Light (Morning) für USD 8.225,00 (€ 8.617,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emil Bisttram auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Storm Over Taos (Stormy Mountain Scene) im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 49.213,31).
