Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ellen Gallagher could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Prints & Multiples Evening Sale auction, the work Ssblak!Ssblak!! Ssblakallblak! Wonder#9 changed hands for USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,950.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Gallagher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deluxe in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ellen Gallagher konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Prints & Multiples Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Ssblak!Ssblak!! Ssblakallblak! Wonder#9 für USD 6.930,00 (€ 5.950,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Gallagher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deluxe im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 987.750,00 (€ 760.509,70).
