Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian laneway by Elaine Haxton was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 20,400.00 (€ 11,908.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elaine Haxton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Bay, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).

Die Arbeit Australian laneway von Elaine Haxton kam im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 20.400,00 (€ 11.908,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Bay beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37) versteigert wurde.
