Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Blue Nude Dreaming, 1950s by Elaine Haxton was sold in the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon auction at Bonhams in April this year. It achieved a price of AUD 11,685.00 (€ 7,003.59), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elaine Haxton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Bay, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Blue Nude Dreaming, 1950s von Elaine Haxton wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon bei Bonhams versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 11.685,00 (€ 7.003,59) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Für andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Bay beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37) versteigert wurde.
