A top price for Elaine Haxton
In May 2001 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Double Bay by Elaine Haxton. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37), 33% above the upper estimate. With this result, Double Bay is even the most expensive work of art by Elaine Haxton that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Double Bay von Elaine Haxton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Double Bay sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Elaine Haxton, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
