Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon, which included the work Bananas, c.1950 by Elaine Haxton. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 4,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 5,166.00 (€ 3,096.32). Admittedly, works by Elaine Haxton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double Bay in May 2001 with an auction result of AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionA Curated Salon durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bananas, c.1950 von Elaine Haxton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 4.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 5.166,00 (€ 3.096,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Double Bay im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37).
