Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Child Drawing by Elaine Haxton. The price achieved of AUD 11,400.00 (€ 6,816.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elaine Haxton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Double Bay, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 39,950.00 (€ 23,946.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Child Drawing von Elaine Haxton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 11.400,00 (€ 6.816,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elaine Haxton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Double Bay beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 39.950,00 (€ 23.946,37) versteigert wurde.
