Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part II, which included the work The Lily Apartments by Edward Hopper. The price achieved of USD 1,620,000.00 (€ 1,569,311.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Hopper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chop Suey in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 91,875,000.00 (€ 81,140,157.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Lily Apartments von Edward Hopper zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.620.000,00 (€ 1.569.311,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Hopper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chop Suey im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.875.000,00 (€ 81.140.157,20).
