Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Sea Urchin (Sea Nymph) by Edward Henry Berge for USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,498.87). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Discoveries at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Henry Berge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Wildflower' in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 29,656.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sea Urchin (Sea Nymph) von Edward Henry Berge für USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.498,87) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Henry Berge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Wildflower' im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 29.656,48).
