Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Máscara by Edgar Negret. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,760.00 (€ 27,897.47). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Negret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aparato Mágico, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Máscara von Edgar Negret zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.760,00 (€ 27.897,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Negret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aparato Mágico beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67) versteigert wurde.
