Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Torre by Edgar Negret was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,475.00 (€ 41,744.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Negret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aparato Mágico, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Torre von Edgar Negret wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.475,00 (€ 41.744,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Edgar Negret mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aparato Mágico beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67) versteigert wurde.
