Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Libélula by Edgar Negret was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in June 2021. The price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 25,523.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edgar Negret have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Aparato Mágico in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67).

Die Arbeit Libélula von Edgar Negret wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 25.523,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edgar Negret auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Aparato Mágico im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67).
